At the running back position, the free-agent pool just got a little deeper.
Teams across the league were notified in a letter that Bilal Powell was completely cleared of a neck injury that was once thought to threaten his career, reported NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Bilal Powell, who also spent eight seasons also with the New York Jets, is healthy in Week 7 after suffering the injury and said he’s “really looking forward to getting back to work,” added Rapoport.
The 5-foot-10, 204-pound Bilal Powell, who keeps turning 31 on Oct. 27, has been able to draw attention from teams that need an experienced all-purpose running back.
With 37 starts in his career, Powell has appeared in 96 games with a total of 3,446 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns on 791 attempts, averaging 4.4 yards per carrier. In the passing game, he can also help a team, evidenced by 204 career catches for 1,567 and four touchdowns on 297 goals.
His best season comes in 2016 when he raised 1,110 total yards from scrimmage (722 yards rushing).
