Watch this space, the NFL is making some changes as it relates to television broadcasts during the upcoming 2019 season.
During most of the Divisional Round, playoff games on Sunday will later start, every market will have three games every Sunday, and there will be fewer commercial breaks during the Super Bowl.
At the Spring League Meeting on Wednesday it was announced that Sunday’s Divisional Round games will be moved back to 3 p.m. And at 6:30 p.m. EST. They had already started at 1:05 p.m. And at 4:40 p.m. And now match the start times for the games of the conference championship.
In addition, the single-header policy has been eliminated, so every market in the regular season will receive three games during Sundays. This is particularly impactful for markets with multiple teams like the Bay Area with the 49ers and Raiders, Southern California with the Rams and Chargers, and Washington D.C. Redskins and Ravens area.
Lastly, five commercial breaks per quarter were previously featured in the Super Bowl, but will now have four.
